No accounts. No ads. No tracking. No analytics. Your data lives on your own device. The little that ever leaves it is either anonymous or end-to-end encrypted so that we could not read it even if we wanted to.
Your schedule (starred sets), saved tickets (barcode data), booze-o-meter log, language choice, map calibration and buddy list are stored only in your device's local storage. They are never uploaded in readable form. Deleting the app (or clearing site data) removes them.
When you rate a band, we store the rating on our server together with a random device identifier — a random number that is not linked to your name, account, or anything identifying. It is used only to count each device once per band and to show aggregated crowd scores.
Buddy pairing exchanges an encryption key directly between your two devices via the QR code you scan. Everything buddies share — name, optional selfie, optional phone number, your starred sets, and (only if you switch it on) your location — is encrypted on your device with AES-256 before it is relayed through our server. The server stores only unreadable ciphertext and never has the key. Location sharing is off by default, works only while the app is open, and is visible only to your paired buddies. Removing a buddy deletes the relayed data and cuts the link in both directions.
Camera — used only to scan ticket barcodes and buddy QR codes; images are processed on your device and never stored or uploaded. Location — used only for your position on the festival map and, if you opt in, encrypted sharing with buddies. Both permissions are optional; the rest of the app works without them.
No advertising, no sale of data, no third-party trackers, no profiling, no cookies beyond the app's own local storage. The app is served via Netlify, whose infrastructure processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site, as any host does.
Everything is deletable by you, in the app: clear your drinks log, delete tickets, remove buddies (which wipes the relayed data), or clear all app data via your device settings. For anything else, contact us and we'll help.
